for the two families simplicity studio handles, it is using different compilers, different debug/load interfaces, different ....

 

THUS when askung questions about simplicity studio DO mention the chip family

Thank you Erik.  This is very important.  It's the first thing we're going to ask you if not stated in the original post, so stating it up front will lead to getting an answer sooner.

Beside of that it shouldn't necessary to ask rather than that the one who asks should provide as many information as possible in the initial thread, there might be two possible ways to optimize it:

1) place a message text like 'please specify MCU family' or something similar on the screen when opening a new thread in the MCU section

2) force the user to choose a MCU family from a dropdown list when opening a new thread in the MCU section
