Question

Where can I find a terminal program for Windows?

Answer

Prior to Windows 7, HyperTerminal came with the OS and could be used to connect to a COM port.

In Windows 7 and later operating systems, it is necessary to use a third party terminal program to access COM ports. There are several options available:

Putty: http://www.putty.org/

Terminal (Bray++): http://sites.google.com/site/terminalbpp/

RealTerm: http://realterm.sourceforge.net/
