Can't connect to incompatible device

After last Simplicity Studio update I can't connect to incompatible device. I have own board with EFR32MG1P232F256GM32

When debug start I got warning, click Yes and got error " The given part number EFR32MG1P232F256GM32 does not match the detected device EFR32MG1P232F256GM48".

Before last update this operation worked correctly.

I can't change to proper device in HW configurator, becouse I got Internal Error:  java.lang.NullPointerException

Re: Can't connect to incompatible device

Hi @tj,

I am seeing similar issues with the latest Simplicity Studio update. I am investigating it and I will let you know what I find out.

Thank you,

Re: Can't connect to incompatible device

Hi @tj,

We found some problems with some of the efr32 asset files.  These were corrected and published last night.  Please do a studio update again, there should be 5 asset updates for the efr32 devices.

After updating, please let me know if this issue still exists.

Thank you,

jpitt

Re: Can't connect to incompatible device

Hi @tj,

Please check for updates periodically.  Silicon Labs uses a content delivery service to distribute the download assets across the world and I have heard of others that didn't see an update for a few days.  I will investigate the timing of when updates are available, but it would be beneficial to hear when you see the update.

Thank you,

jpitt

Re: Can't connect to incompatible device

I have the exact same problem with EFM32G210F128.  Any chance there is a solution for this too?

Re: Can't connect to incompatible device

Hi @kevinko,

The screenshot is showing the project was built for device efm32lg990f256, but the device connected to Simplicity Studio is an EFM32G210F128.  What device is shown in the "Devices" window?  Expanding the J-Link Silicon Labs line in the "Devices" window and the lines under it until the device is shown.  If the Devices window shows efm32lg990f256, but the actual device is the EFM32G210F128, then the detected device might be overridden in the configuration for this WSTK (or J-Link serial number).  If that is the case then right clicking the top level "J-Link Silicon Labs" line and choosing "Device configuration..." will open a dialog box.  Click the "Device hardware" tab.  If the part listed under Target part is efm32lg990f256, then enter "None" where it says "Search" below Target part: and click OK to clear the override and revert back to the detected part.  Programming and debugging can then happen on the detected part.

I hope this is helpful information.

Thank you,

jpitt
