In which cases should I apply DC-DC to PAVDD when creating an EFR32 design?

Answer

Using the 1.8V output of the internal DC-DC converter of EFR32 to PAVDD is recommended for applications with output power <= 13dBm. In this case, the current consumption of the PA (and so the current of the entire chip) is lower than with the main 3.3V supply. Above 13dBm output power it is recommended to use the main 3.3V supply for PAVDD.
