Hello,

JG12 and PG12 looks very interesting for me.

Order samples, prepare PCB and now wait...

May be you increase samples amount from 2 to 5 ?

Thanks !

Hi,

Thanks for your interest!  I will relay your suggestion to our team that manages samples.  In the meantime, if you need more you can buy individual parts on the major web distributor sites, such as Digikey or Mouser.  I just checked and they are in stock at both.

Ted

Re: New EFM32 Pearl and Jade Gecko devices launched!

Hi,

I just obtain a development KIT

SLSTK3402A for PG12, but I don't know to install  any code examples for this KIT.

in folder

c:\SiliconLabs\SimplicityStudio\v4\developer\sdks\exx32\v4.4.1\kits\

are only subfolder SLSTK3401A_EFM32PG

Are there any code examples for this family chip?

Re: New EFM32 Pearl and Jade Gecko devices launched!

Hi @MartinS,

v4.4.1 is an old version of the SDK that does not have the PG12 examples. I suggest updating or reinstalling Studio so that you have the newer Gecko SDK Suite.

Once updated, the PG12 examples will be located:

C:\SiliconLabs\SimplicityStudio\v4\developer\sdks\gecko_sdk_suite\v1.0\app\mcu_example\SLSTK3402A_EFM32PG12

If you still have issues, I suggest starting a new thread or submitting a support request (https://www.silabs.com/support > Email Support Request).

Re: New EFM32 Pearl and Jade Gecko devices launched!

Hi,

thanks for info, now it works - I have already updated Simlicity, but SDK not. When I updated SDK too, I works and Examples are there.

I want to test examples with uVision5, but it not works. Compilation and link process is OK. When I try to debug I obtain error message "No Cortex-M SW-Device Found" (KIT 3502 in both Debug mode "MCU" and "IN").

Message in uVision5 in log space is suspicious:"* JLink Info: Device "ARM7" selected.", but PG12 is only CORTEX-M4.

Setting in Flash Download  Programming Algorithm is "EFM32 Wonder Gecko", because PG is not available.

How can I connect to KIT with PG12 from uVision5?

Martin

PS: uV5:

Toolchain:        MDK-ARM Standard Cortex-M only  Version: 5.13.0.0

Target DLL:             Segger\JL2CM3.dll      V2.99.11.0

Thanks for all. I updated KEIL for family PG12, but update of SEGGER driver was necessary too (for FLASH upload process). Now it works.

Re: New EFM32 Pearl and Jade Gecko devices launched!

Can I just program it with Simplicity Studio and C like STK 3200?

I would like the much more Ram and Flash.

@iwl

Simplicity Studio should be ok to support EFM32PG and EFM32JG.

You could use Simplicity Studio to program and debug these device.
